منظور از ISI بودن یک مجله علمی چیست؟

یک شرکت سرمایه‌گذاری است که عمده فعالیت‌های آن در زمینه محاسبات و تحلیل اطلاعات است. مطابق اطلاعات ارایه شده در وب سایت این مجموعه، خدمات Clarivate به طورکلی به چهار گروه زیر تقسیم می‌شود:

«انستیتو اطلاعات علمی» با هدف ارایه خدمات انتشار مطالب دانشگاهی فعالیت خود را در سال 1960 با مدیریت Eugene Garfield در فیلادلفیا آمریکا آغاز نمود. از جمله خدمات قابل توجه این مجموعه، تهیه و به‌روزرسانی پایگاه‌داده‌ای از مجلات علمی گوناگون و ارزش‌گذاری آن‌ها با توجه به تعداد ارجاعاتشان است.
مجموعه ISI در سال 1992 توسط Thomson Scientific & Healthcare خریداری شد و پس از آن تا سال 2016 با نام Thomson ISI به فعالیت خود ادامه داد. این مجموعه در سال 2018 به شرکت Clarivate واگذار شد و هم اکنون نیز تحت این نام تجاری فعالیت می‌کند.
به طور کلی منظور از ISI بودن یک مجله علمی، دارا بودن ارجاعات بالا در پایگاه داده ISI است.

ISI was acquired by Thomson Scientific & Healthcare in 1992, and became known as Thomson ISI. It was a part of the Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters until 2016
In 2018 the IP & Science business was sold, and since the time ISI works under the Clarivate Analyticsbrand
